Anyone want to bring me a battery back from the States?

Probably they will gun you down if they find it in your hand luggage, but the fact is that amazon.com lists the Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro battery at half the price Apple's UK online store has it. I'd rather pay what the thing is worth...

If you bought the battery you need to replace from an apple store, go back and demand that they replace the battery with a new one under the sale of goods act 1979 (amended in 1994 and 2002). The goods are not of satisfactory quality.

If you bought it on line you have even more rights.

See this document for some details.

I'll be in the US over Christmas/New Year, so if you're still looking for someone in a couple of weeks drop me an email and I can pick one up for you.

Well I got it cheap but it was a bit of a dubious proposition - it had clearly been dropped at some point. I've sliced off the dented part of the aluminium top cover and all is now hunky dory.
