The postmodern interface
Graphical user interfaces are generally thought to be a little postmodern in character. They borrow everything they have from somebody or other's prior art. I was delighted, though, to discover postmodern irony in original form in the Sunbird 0.2 interface. It features a list in the top left hand corner of the main window that toggles between 'calendar' (== days of the month) and 'calendars' (== list of the .ics files subscribed to by the user). Subtle.
